Birth, Marriage and Death information

     John Andrew Glanville was born circa December 1840 at Falmouth, CON, ENG; registered Falmouth.
     He was baptized on 24 November 1841 at Budock, CON, ENG, parents Edward and Catherine Glanville.
     He married Elizabeth Mary Pope Warrian on 4 November 1862 at St Mary's parish church, Bromley St Leonard, Poplar, MDX, ENG, registered Poplar. After banns, both of full age, bachelor and spinster. Fathers named Edward Glanvill and William Warren, both deceased. Elizabeth's marriage certificate erroneously names her father as William (as does her sister Anna Maria Warrian's). Thomas, her real father died when the sisters were infants and it is probable that brother William Henry took over parental responsibilities (William Henry joined the Royal Navy in 1851 and died at sea near Santander in 1881.)
     He died on 28 April 1904 at Newchurch East, MON, WLS; registered Chepstow, recorded age 64.
     His estate was probated on 18 May 1904 indexed as:
1904 GLANVILL John Andrews of Brooklands, Newchurch East, Monmouthshire, farmer who died on 28 April 1904. Administration at Llandaff on 18 May to Elizabeth Mary Pope Glanvill, widow, effects £149.14-6.
     He was buried in May 1904 at Merthyr Dyfan Cemetery, Barry, GLA, WLS.

Other information

     In June 1854 a small leather bound book named "Scripture Biography" exists, inside is a sticker that says "THE ROYAL HOSPITAL SCHOOLS, GREENWICH. The Reward of Industry, Application and general Good conduct, To John Glanville, Given at the Annual Examination June 1854."
