The Young And The Restless lost its biggest fan on Friday. Carol L. Glanville, age 92, of Fennimore, formerly of Dodgeville, died on Friday, November 22, 2013 at Grant Regional Health Center following a brief illness. The former Carol Neely was born on October 8, 1921 near Steuben to Samuel Earl and Frieda (Goldmann) Neely. Her father passed away when she was four months old. Her mother then married George Osterndorff, whom Carol knew as her father. Carol married Melbourne Glanville on April 6, 1940 in Darlington and together they had eight children. Susan Robertson (George Gray) of Arnoldsville, GA; Jean Slapak of Cobb; Judie (Donald) Shemak of Muscoda; James (Jeanette) of Lyons, GA; Richard (Diana) of Linden; Mary Ellen (Wayne) Tredinnick of Fennimore; Edward (Lynn) of Highland and Larry of Dodgeville; 20 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren with four on the way; seven great great grandchildren and several step grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Ralph Osterndorff of Mineral Point.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melbourne on November 15, 1995; a brother, George Osterndorff; a sister, Anita Anderson and sons-in-law, Roy Robertson and John Slapak
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, November 24, 2013 at the Lulloff-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home in Dodgeville. Chaplain Renee Thomas will officiate with burial in the Linden Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from Noon until the time of services.
