     Following is a biography taken from the History of Iowa County 1881, Chicago, Western Historical Company, Pg. 909
"JAMES GLANVILLE, retired miner and farmer; P.O. Linden; born in England, County Cornwall, Sept. 8, 1808; came to America in July, 1834, to Mineral Point; worked in the mines about two years, then came to Linden; he now owns 90 acres of land, on which there are good improvements, and has one of the best-paying mines in the vicinity. His wife, June Bilkey, was a native of Cornwall, England, and came to America in 1837 with her brother; they were married in 1837; she died in 1850, and left four children - James (in Dodgeville), Mary Jane (now Mrs. Vivian, in Linden), John and Emily (at home). His second wife, Jane Collard, was born in 1828; came to America with her parents; they were married in 1856; she died in 1870, and left four children - William, Charles, Royal and Albert. Mr. G has been Town Treasurer for twenty-seven years."
