Death of Mrs. A. Suffolk
The death occurred on Wednesday night, at Milton, of Mrs. A. Suffolk, relict of the late Mr. Archibald Suffolk, one of the pioneer residents of Tomerong. The deceased lady had been in poor health for the best part of two years, and for some time had resided at Sussex Inlet, but latterly, in order to have close medical and nursing attention, went to Milton, and resided with her brother-in-law, Mr. George Wilson. She rapidly sank, and passed away during Wednesday night. On Thursday the mortal remains were brought to Nowra. The funeral left the Church of England at 3 o'clock, after a short service had been conducted by the Rev. Mr. Strong, of Milton. In the course of a brief address the rev. gentleman referred to the fine personal qualities of the deceased lady, to her womanly attributes, and to her sterling Christian character. The rev. gentleman also conducted the last sad rites at the grave in the C.E. portion of the general cemetery. The late Mrs. Suffolk was a native of this district, being a daughter, of the late Mr. and Mrs. D. Glanville, early and highly respected pioneer settlers of Shoalhaven. She was a woman who was deservedly held in high esteem, one whom to know was to respect and honor. For some years after the death of her husband she made her home in Nowra. Only a few months ago her eldest sister, Mrs. Wilson, of Milton, passed away, so that the family have had a full share of trouble recently.
