In the Name of God Amen
I John Glanville of Catchfren in the parish of St Germans and County of Cornwall Esq being of sound mind but infirm in body do hereby make my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say Imprimis I recommend my Soul to the Mercy of that God who gave it me and my body I commit to the grave wheresoever I may happen to decease Item I desire that all my just debts be immediately satisfied particularly the sum of thirty pounds lent to me by Rev Fornings of Shire London Attorney at law I desire likewise that by debts due at Oxford whose amount I know not exact be punctually discharged Item I give and bequeath to my beloved ffriend the Reverend Charles francis of Quailborough in the County of Wilts the Sum of twenty pounds for Mourning Item I give and bequeath to the Reverent Mr Penward of St Gfermans in the County of Cornwall the sum of ten pounds for Mourning The aforesaid several Debts and Legacies are to be paid out of the sum of two thousand five hundred pounds being the Savings out of the Estate left me by my late ffather Sr John Glanville Knight which said sum is now in the pofsefsion of my dearly beloved mother Dame Mary Glanvill whom I do hereby constitute and appoint my Trustee and Executrix of this my last will and Testament Item when the aforesaid Debts and Legacies shall be so satisfied as aforesaid I give and bequeath the residue to be divided equally between my dearly beloved Mother Dame Mary Glanvill and my dearly beloved Sister Mary Glanvill Item I give and bequeath unto my dear ffriend Mr Richard Fornings the sum of ten pounds for Mourning In witnefs whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this third day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy seven John Glanvill L. David Jennings of Shire Lane in the parish of St Clement Danes in the County of Middlesex Gentleman and Mary Whitehouise of the same place Spinster and being sworn at the holy Evangelists to depose the truth they jointly and severally made oath that they know and were well arquaninted with John Glanvill late of Catchfrench in the parish of St Germans in the County of Cornwall Esq deceased and also with his manner and characater of handwriting and subscription having frequently seen him writ and write and subscribe his name and having more viewed and carefully persused the paper writing hereunto annexed being or purporting to be the last Will and Testament of the said deceased beginning thus "In the Name of God Amen I John Glanvill of Catchfrench in the parish of St Germans County of Cornwall Esq" ending thus "In Wtness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this third day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy seven" and thus subscribed "John Glanvill" they those Deponents do severally verily and in their conscious believe the whole Body, Series and Contents of the said paper writing beginining and ending as aforesaid and also the name John Glanvill thereto set and subscribed to have been totally wrote &c and subscribed by and with the proper hand of the said John Glanvill deceased David Jennings M Whitehouse same day the said David Jennings and Mary Whitehouise were duly sworn to the truth of this affidavit before me Geo Harris Surrogate Pt E A Crickitt N.J.

This Will was proved at London on the twenty sixth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy nine before the worshipful George Harris Doctor of Laws Surrogate of the Right Worshipfull Peter Calvert Doctor of Laws Master Keeper on Commifsary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of Dame Mary Glanvill widow the mother of the deceased and sole Executrix named in the said will to who admon was granted of all and singular the goods chattels and effects of the said deceased having been first sworn duly to administer.
