In the Name of God Amen
I Benjamin Glanvill of Mile End Old Town in the parish of Saint Dunstan Stepney in the County of Middlesex gentleman being of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding but considering the uncertainty of this transitory life do for avoiding controversies after my decease make publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following (that is to say) ffirst and principally I recommend by Soul to Almighty God that gave it me and my body to the earth to be buried in manner following (that is to say) I direct that by body may be inclosed in a coffin lined with lead and that I may be buried in the vault which I have purchased of the provost and ffellows of Eaton Colledge where the remains of my late wife are deposited and as for and concerning all my wordly estate after the payment of all my just debts ffuneral expenses and the charges of proving this my will I give devise and bequeath the same as follows (that is to say) I give and bequeath unto my cousin William Marcham Glanvill three hundred pounds to be paid him (if he should so long have at the age of twenty one years But in case he should die before that time then I give and bequeath the said sum of three hundred pounds unto my brother Matthias Glanvill and as to all the rest residue and remainder of the ffreehold espynses (?) and leasehhold lands mefsuages or tenements together with all and singular sum and sums of money rents chattells and estate as well real as personal which I shall bein pofsefsion of or any ways intituled unto at the time of my deceae I give devise and bequeath the same unto my loving brother Matthias Glanvill his heirs and afsigns for ever and I do hereby nominate and appoint my said brother Matthias Glanvill sole executor or this my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void all former and other will by me at any time heretofore made and do declare this only to by my last will and testament In Witnefs whereof I have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal this fifth day of May in the fourteenth year of the reign of our sovereign Lord George the third by the grace of God of Great Britain ffrance and Ireland King Defender of the ffaith &c and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy four Benj Glanvill - Signed sealed and published by the testator Benj Glanvill as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us Nath Martin George Thorne Mile End Saml Ravenscroft snr Crutchid fforien

This will was proved at London the thirteenth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy four before the Worshipful ffrancis Simpson Doctor of Laws and Surrogate of the Right Worshipful Sir George Day Knight Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commifsary of the prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of Matthias Glanvill the brother of the deceased and sole executor named in the said will to whom administratino of all and singular the goods chattells and credits of the said deceased was granted having been first sworn duly to adminster
