I Jeremiah Glanvill of the parish of Saint George Hanover Square
Carpenter being of perfect mind and memory make this my last will
and testament first I desire to be buried in the parish churchyard of
Paddington as near to my dear Wife as pofsible and in case I die out
of London that then I be brought to Paddington aforesaid in a hearse
with four horses only where shall be six carpenters who shall be
then servant to my Master Mr John Phillips to support my pall unto
each of whom shall be given one Crepe hatband one pair of
gloves and carpenters apron and one carpenters two ffot rule of
the value of eighteen pence and my will is that a funeral sermon
be preached at my said funeral and that my executors do pay unto
the Clergyman that preacheth it the sume of one guinea with hat
bands and gloves to him and the parish clerk and as for such wordly
effects that it shall please God to pofsefs me with at the time of my
decease after paying all my just debts and funerel expenses I give
bequeath and dispose of the manner and form following Imprimis I
give and bequeath to my nephew John Glanvill all my wearing apparel
both linen and woollen Item I give and bequeath to my
son William Glanvill by house in which I now live in situated the
bark of paradise now near Brook Street in the County of Middlesex and
likewise my houise situated in Mount Street in the parish and county
aforesaid and now in the pofsefsion of ....... Constable likewise
my two houses situated lying and being in Thames Street in the Town
of Abington in the County of Berks one of which is now in the pofsefsion
of Eustace Crump and the other of the widow Winsmort all of which
four foresaid houses together with the appurtenances them and now
thereunto belonging I give and bequeath to my said son William
for and during his natural life only and after his decease unto his
Sons male to be by his lawfully begotten and in case that he dies leaving
no such male sons then I give and bequeath all the four aforesaid
houses together with the appurtenances unto my four nephews John
Benjamin Jeremiah and Edward sons of my brother Benjamin
Glanvill deceased or unto so many of them as shall at the time
be living to be equally divided share and share alike and all the rest
residue and remainder of my estate lands tenements hereditaments
with my goods chattels piace (?) Jewells bonds debts with all other an
properties of what kind nature or quality soever I give and bequeath
unto my said son William Glanvill Item I give and bequeath unto
each of my executors a ring of the value of one guinea each and I
do hereby constitute and appoint my said son William Glanvill and
Mr James Litton of the parish of Saint Margaret Westminster Gent
and Mr John Pitty of the parish of Lambeth in the County of Surrey
Sawyer Executors of this my last will and testament and I do
hereby revoke disallow and disannull all former bequests wills
and legacies by me heretofore in any ise left of made declaring
ratifying and confirming this to be my last Will and Testament In
witnefs whereof I hve hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty
