Robert T. Glanville, 96, of Ironton, Ohio passed away and went into the arms of Jesus, May 19, 2018 at Jo-Lin Nursing Home. The Ironton native was born December 8, 1921, a son of the late John and Charlotte Johns Glanville. He was also preceded in death by two wives, Esther Cleary Glanville and Dorothy Lacey Glanville.
After graduating from Ironton High School in 1939, Bob served in the US Army from 1942 to 1945 as a Motor Sergeant, in the 94th Infantry Division. He served at the Battle of the Bulge. He worked as a Operator of the pumping station of Ironton Water Works; then became Superintendent of Flood Control and Sewer Departments. Bob started working at Dow Chemical Plant at Hanging Rock, Ohio as a Maintenance foreman where he retired in 1982.
Bob's favorite hobbies were golfing, sewing and quilting. He was a long time active member of First United Methodist Church of Ironton where he served in many different capacities including being instrumental in the construction of the educational building. Bob had a vast knowledge of the history of the church.
In addition to his parents and wives, he was also preceded in death by:

He is survived by:

four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren as well as several nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 South Sixth Street, Ironton, Ohio with Pastor Don Woolum and Pastor Dwayne Young officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery with military graveside rites provided by VFW Post 8850. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials be made to First United Methodist Church of Ironton, Ohio.
