On Amphitude going to Edinburgh 12 May 1831, 1832 transferred to Ireland, 1835 Gibraltar, 1836 Malta, 1842 Barbados, 1842 St Kitts, 1844 back in England.
Promoted Cpl 21 Jan 1836, Sgt 24 Mar 1846. Discharged at his own request 15 Mar 1849 at Limerick Ireland with a gratuity of one years pay. He ended military service on 15 March 1849 in Limerick, IRL; discharged at own request, having served in Edinburgh, Ireland, Gibraltar, Malta, Barbados, St Kitts and England.
     William Glanville and Sophia Gomez immigrated in 1851 to AUS on the convict ship Pyrenees (which left Torbay, Devon 30 Mar 1851 and arrived 28 Jun 1851). William being a pensioner guard (warder) with wife Sophia and 5 children (2 of which where Sophia's by her earlier marriage.)
      William disappeared to South Africa (leaving his family) from where there is a prison service record of a letter from him dated 5 Apr 1854 Cape of Good Hope in which he requested his job back (refused). Family word of mouth only says then to U.K. rejoining the Army, then Crimea, then West Indies / Bermuda / Bahamas?

Mention is also made of Anne's son Jacob. Copies of the book were sent to Charles Glanville of Plymouth, Edward Glanville of H.M.S. Orlando, and Henry Glanville of Sussex. No indication of relationship to these people. One was also sent to Jacob Glanville (uncle) of Devonport, England.
      In 1925 the marriage of a William Glanville to a Margaret Dore was registered Perth, WA, AUS, and the death of a Margaret Glanville was registered Perth in 1932.
